After a bit of a delay, I can finally upload The Hierophant of my Tales of Tarot project. There’s still a few things I want to go and change about this one before I take this to get printed with the others at the end of the semester, but that’ll come later.

Ion wasn’t too difficult to place when I first debated which card he’d represent. I initially narrowed him down to The Hierophant and Temperance…The former of which ultimately won for the sheer number of similarities it shared with Ion in comparison to the other (seriously, go take a look at the wiki, especially under interpretation).

Next is Tear as my High Priestess. Her card should take a bit less time to work on. After that, Jade might be making his appearance as The Magician. I’m open to alternative suggestions though, as well as other character/card combos whether they be from Abyss, Graces, or Symphonia. As always, my ask box is open.

Okay. This card has been in an almost done stage for a while now and I’m finally FINALLY posting it up here. It’s by far my most complex card and the one with the most symbolism behind it. When the time comes for me to write the paper on these cards, I’ll go into things in full detail but for now I’ll just leave you with this:

The Death card is not always a bad thing. More that anything it’s a card of change and rebirth; of endings and growing; of acceptance and looking forward. Guy and his story embody this in many ways and the fact that he’s associated with a Phoenix within the game only further fueled my decision in choosing him to represent this card. I hope you guys feel the same.

Some RotG doodles from my stream earlier today. Features the only time I will probably ever draw Bunnymund in a way I actually like. I still need a lot of practice with him…Jack too apparently because he is deceptively difficult to draw. Sandy’s a cutie of course and North is actually really fun drawing too.  Tooth was probably the most fun though. Took some liberties with her because her design makes me think of a thousand AUs and I want to draw them all out gosh. Such a cutie.

Did this ages ago but never got around to posting it anywhere but dA. Felt like sharing it because Rebuild feelings…

This card took a lot longer to finish than I wanted it to take but it’s done! (Card border color schemes subject to change.) I’m a bit behind on my own personal schedule for these cards but at least the amount I need isn’t set in stone…If I can get 3 more cards done by the end of the semester, I’d feel a lot better about it as a project though, at least for this first batch… (The original amount I wanted done was at least 10 but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. T3T)

Next is Guy Cecil, making his appearance in my Major Arcana as Death. I’ve a distinct idea in mind for this card…here’s hoping I can pull it off!

These are a bit overdue but I honestly haven’t been able to work on them much the past few days. Been more busy with my internship and freelance assignments…Anyways, this is just screencap of a close-up of part of Natalia’s card and a really rough WIP sketch of Guy’s (better viewed in high res)…I keep re-drawing/scrapping parts of my Guy/Death concept. I know what I want to convey but I feel like my skill level is keeping me from being satisfied with it. =’< I’m pretty alright with Natalia and The Star though…I’m looking forward to doing the color for that one. =’> 

I kinda want to get her lineart done at least by the end of this weekend. So yes. Wish me luck!

If anyone wants to give me their input over what Major Arcana card they believe fits certain Tales of the Abyss characters, feel free to leave a message in my ask! I’m a bit conflicted over who to assign cards too at the moment and I’d love to hear some secondary opinions! Go nuts~.

Finally finished coloring The Fool for my Tales of Tarot project. This one didn’t come out quite like I wanted and I’m not entirely sure I’m keeping this color scheme for the card border but this, like the others, will be going through some revisions before print. I’m also not entirely sure whether or not I should have Mieu there. The Fool tends to have an animal companion so I figured Mieu would fit but I’m pretty fail at drawing him so now I’m not so sure…Anyways, I’ll be sharing my sketches for The Star (Natalia) and Death (Guy) cards tomorrow.

Okay so while Hurricane Sandy tries it’s hardest to scare me shitless tonight, I’ve decided to share my first (mostly) finished card from that Tales of Tarot project I posted about a while back. I’m coloring/adding some finishing touches to The Fool (which also features Luke) and have some ideas sketched out for The Star (Natalia) and Death (Guy) cards respectively. 

I’m a bit conflicted over my decision to make Natalia The Star…She’d fit well for The Empress too but since I’m expanding the Major Arcana deck for characters from Symphonia and Graces, I’m trying to think who else might fit the two cards…

Anyways, any comments/criticisms/input is greatly welcome. =’> Let me know what you guys think!
